General description:

These industrial strength rare earth magnets are designed to be durable and incredibly powerful for their size. The chrome plated steel cup acts to not only protect the magnet from physical damage, but to also focus the magnetic power on the open face of the magnets, creating a magnetic pull sufficient for most applications. Each magnet creates a pull force of approximately 70 lbs!

The pull force was tested using a horizontally mounted, clean, ¼” steel plate. Vertical mounting will result in 2/3 of the pull force due to magnetic shear forces. The magnets are manufactured using premium grade materials in an ISO 9000 quality control facility. Each magnet comes with its own 1″ long screw. The countersunk holes on the magnets allow the screws to sit below the surface of the magnet, keeping the screws from interfering with use. Perfect for many applications including: science projects, arts and crafts, cabinet / door latches, storage and organization, garage, workshop, tools, kitchen, prototypes, antenna mounts, meteorite hunters, retrieval of metal objects, knife holders, gate catch, hanging objects, lifting, magnetizing, creative projects, gun / pistol mounting and so on, we use a hook assembly with pot magnet as below,

  • Tips for pot magnet

The sides of the magnets repel each other. The poles on the countersunk sides are split, so if you desire to attract the same side to each other it will only attract if they are a little offset. Long story short, the opposite poles are on different ends of the magnets, so the opposite sides will always attract each other. If you have a particular application in mind I can assist you with finding out if these magnets will satisfy your needs. Hope this helps.
